In Short – Originating in Lebanon Texas, this country store and restaurant has branched out all over the U.S. The décor includes old advertising signs, farm equipment, early kitchen appliances and photos which complement the country-style seating. Their menu includes home-style comfort foods like meatloaf and house-made mashed potatoes daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Make sure to stop into the gift shop for souvenirs and a variety of knick-knacks.

Great Server-Jenn H. Great Food-Homemade

by Butterflycandydolphin at Citysearch

I really enjoyed the food and the server is awesome. I ask for the same server EVERYTIME I go there (at least once a week) because I know she does a great job. Sometimes the food may take a little longer than it should but I also know that the traine new cooks which can be the reason sometimes. But if you go and ask for Jenn H. (My favorite server) she will make every visit a great visit. Plus all the food is homemade - like Granny used to make. And well worth the price.

  • Pros: Great server named Jenn H, Home cooking, good sweet tea
  • Cons: can be loud when full, long wait for food only SOMETIMES

Pathetic, slow service , food quality roulette

by cwmjmitch at Citysearch

We visited for the last time 3 weeks ago today. What a miserable experience. We like Cracker Barrel food and have dined at dozens of them across the south east (Recent dining at the Manchester, TN was world class!). Why our home town had to get the worst one is beyond me. This has been a lack luster Cracker Barrel from day one. Service is poor and management is a problem. While managers are nice and seem concerned when you have a problem, they do little to correct the problem after a complaint. If you have a bad meal, which you will here, they are reluctant to take care of the meal or at least take the item off that wasn't fit to eat. Our last dining experience here resulted in us and two other tables walking OUT after 55 minutes of being seated for breakfast and no food! Keep a 17 month old that is hungry entertained for an hour, only to discover after 45 minutes of waiting that your waitress did not even turn your order in! To top it off, she didn't even know which table had ordered which and had to recite the ticket back to us not once, but on two occasions. What added insult to injury is when us and the couple seated next to us, who had been there 10 minutes longer than us, witnessed a table that was seated after us by 10 minutes receive their food first! We all left right then.

I did not complain to the manager. Past complaints have done no good and I was too darned mad to talk to anyone. My wife called a couple of days later and did talk to the manager. Apparently we had made a statement this time because he was apologetic and offered, for the first time in that place's history, a free meal, which we declined. Why take it? We won't eat there again and that's a promise. I've given this place so many chances, it's unreal. It's our own fault for coming back just to receive more lack luster service. We travel enough we'll get our Cracker Barrel fix elsewhere.

Not recommended! Why eat somewhere when you'll get bad food, leave $25 poorer and ticked off?

  • Pros: Nice shopping?
  • Cons: Bad service, bad food and then occasional good meal-spin the chamber

Cracker Barrel-Great Food-Bad Service

by jlholt1 at Citysearch

Any time I go to Cracker Barrel, whether in the morning, at lunch, or in the evenings, the service is awful. I have to wait and wait sometimes for anyone to even come to our table. Our waitor seems to disappear at times, and is no where in sight. It takes a really long time to get the food, even when you think you have ordered something relatively easy! Food is great, but I wish the service were better!

  • Pros: Great Food
  • Cons: Slow Service, Takes Too Long
